Why Canon Waterproof Digital Camera?
Today there is a great number of brands produce waterproof digital cameras; the first were Olympus and Pentax, then Panasonic, Fujifilm and Cannon entered the market segment and brought their waterproof cameras. As we're going to talk about Canon waterproof digital camera, I would like to put an attention to Canon PowerShot D10 Waterproof digital camera. This device is multi option, durable that is able to produce images of really good quality (remember we talk about underwater photography), although it doesn't support the super fine quality setting as was seen in Canon PowerShot SD950 IS, its predecessor.
The camera has SDHC card slot and accepts card of 4GB capacity, which can be translated into around 1000 or maybe more JPEG images shot at 12 mega pixels resolution (quite a lot, isn't it?). As for the image quality, it may be lower than those made with the Olympus Stylus SW cameras, but the price tag is much lower. So we can say the Canon PowerShot D10 waterproof camera is cost efficient, which makes it very popular in its segment of the market.
Because of the better protection this camera is good for use in almost any harsh weather condition, not only underwater; you can go hiking with it - it comes with many accessories like the shoulder, neck and carabineer straps. It also has a sporty look, so probably you will like it.
There are four shooting modes: Auto mode, Scene, Movie and Program AE; it should be noted here that the Auto mode works pretty fine (often I have to switch to program mode to get the shots quality I want when I use other cameras).
Of course it may not be an ideal, but rather good, which is a blessing for those not so savvy in photography.
As for the Program AE mode, it offers simple adjustment facility to focus, flash, light sensitivity & brightness; the Scene mode gives you options to preset it according to indoor light, night and at the beach. When you take pictures underwater, they turn out to be quite bright despite the fact of being shot underwater, so that's great.
This Canon waterproof digital camera is affordable and offers a good quality of shots in extreme environments. It has 12 MP, 3x optical zoom, allows you to go for 33ft underwater, it is shock proof (four feet), can bear freezing temperatures of as low as 14 degrees Fahrenheit; it can capture videos as well. It also has a flash and a large 2.5-inch LCD display. There are many other features you can find out about after making a little online research.
